JH Technologies is a full service company. We offer preventive maintenance and service on all Leica Microscopes as well as most other brands. We have factory-trained technicians who can restore your microscope to original factory condition. Our technicians carefully calibrate, test, and inspect each microscope to insure maximum performance and proper resolving power. Our service consists of the following: Stereo Microscopes Pre-cleaning evaluation and inspection* Clean optics, filters, and light source (if applicable) Clean exterior and remove non-applicable labels Check and adjust parfocality When needed remove old lubricant and relubricate focus assembly, stage, etc. Minor repair made at no charge Major repairs complete only at the direction of the client Affix date of service label, due date for next service, and serial number if not available Post cleaning evaluation and inspection Any malfunctions of the scope are documented and explained to the client    *Note: Preventive maintenance and cleaning does not include opening the microscopes body. Pre-cleaning evaluation and inspection will determine if major repairs requiring disassembly of the microscope body are needed. In these cases the customer will be notified of what the problem is and cost estimate for the repair Compound Microscopes Pre-cleaning evaluation and inspection Disassemble microscope Clean, lubricate, and reset moving parts Remove, clean, check, and par-focal all optics Clean interior prisms and inspect for proper alignment. Remove, clean, and align sub-stage condenser (if required) When needed remove old lubricant and relubricate focus assembly, stage, etc. Test and set electrical system to specifications. Test focusing mechanisms Reassemble and individually test each microscope with a slide under all objectives Affix date of service label, due date for next service, and serial number if not available Any malfunctions of the scope are documented and explained to the client Preventive Maintenance and Cleaning Costs: Service will be billed at $150/hour plus parts. Generally all PM and cleaning services are done at your site unless otherwise requested. Stereo microscopes can serviced at typical rates of 3 to 4 per hour while complex compound scopes can general be cleaned in less than two hours. For volume rates please contact us directly. Repair and Service Costs: Repairs and general service will be billed at $150/hour plus parts. All repairs will be performed at JH Technologies. Due to the difficulty in evaluating microscope s for repair without seeing and it firsthand, we generally require you to send your microscope to our facility exceptions can be made. Our technicians will do a complete evaluation and advise you of the repair costs; you are under no obligation to repair your equipment. In order to do a proper evaluation, microscopes & parts must be dissembled and evaluated by a repair technician. There is a $25 evaluation for each monocular microscope and a $50 fee for each binocular microscope. Small non-optical parts such as mechanical stages require a $25 evaluation fee, all optical components such as objectives, condensers and binocular bodies require a $50 evaluation fee. All evaluation fees will be waived & deducted off the repair estimate should you decide to have your item repaired. Return shipping, handling, and insurance will be charged at our cost.
