VAIS-AMT Series Tabletop Active Vibration Isolation Platforms

coxem

The VAIS-AMT Series Active Vibration Isolation Tables or Platforms have the performance system, while still being affordable compared to all other active vibration solutions.

With standard features like Auto-Leveling, Real-Time Vibration Monitoring, and No Compressed Air Required—you will find the VAIS-AMT an invaluable accessory that will significantly enhance and improve any vibration-sensitive instrumentation allowing you to gain the maximum capability for your microscope investment.

Three (3) Size Models to suit any tabletop requirement

From the smallest model at 420 mm×500 mm and weighing only 25kg making it perfect for most Optical Microscopes, to the largest platform at 700mm x 800mm able to support Table-top SEM's up to 250kg (550 lbs). Users are able to address any application they are faced with while also allowing installation at most locations and standard lab counters.

  • Acoustic Enclosure
  • Rigid Support Tables
  • Top Plate Mounting Holes

Control Vibration in all 6 Degrees of Freedom

Inertial sensors and VCM actuators that are installed in the active vibration isolation system detect and control vibrations in three translational degrees of motion ( X-Y-Z), and three rotational degrees of motion (pitch, roll and yaw).

Plug-and-Play Installation—NO AIR REQUIRED

The VAIS-AMT Active Vibration Isolation system is designed for simple plug-and-play operation for most applications. The plug-and-play design does not require complex installation or routine maintenance.

There is NO Compressed Air required.

Users can operate the entire system at the push of 2 buttons after powering on:

A) push AUTO LEVEL and the system levels the supported instrument even on uneven surfaces

B) push Active Isolation to begin suppression of any incoming ambient vibration.

Overcome Limitations of PASSIVE Isolation Systems

A passive isolation system normally has its natural frequency from 1.5 to 10 Hz in which vibrations with the low forced frequency coincide with the natural frequency, amplifying incoming vibrations rather than reducing them.

Our VAIS series overcome this weakness by lowering the natural frequency of the system down to the sub-hertz range. Therefore, the VAIS series is incredibly effective at controlling 1—5 Hz where vibration-sensitive tools are unstable and disruptive and cannot yield optimal results. The VAIS series reduces vibrations from 0.5 Hz, delivering 80—90% at 2 Hz.

As this transmissibility graph shows, the active system excels in controlling vibrations in the 1-10 Hz range, whereas the passive systems amplify the low-frequency vibrations rather than filtering them.

The VAIS systems are highly effective in isolating ultra-precise microscopes and instruments from these low-frequency vibrations where the precision instruments are unstable and disrupted.

Suppress SUB-HERTZ Vibrations

The VAIS-AMT systems are highly effective in isolating ultra-precise instruments from ambient vibrations ranging from 1–10 Hz whereas vibration-sensitive precision instruments are unstable and disrupted by vibration such that they cannot produce optimal results. The VAIS-AMT systems isolate at 0.6Hz, delivering ±99% of vibration isolation at 10 Hz.
This single specification of what frequency the system begins isolation and when 90% and 99% isolation is reached are the most critical when comparing different solutions to determine the best performer.

Superior Stiffness Characteristics

The system stiffness or resistance of the platform to motion is a dramatic difference between Active Vibration Isolation Systems and Passive Vibration Isolation systems. The isolated base platform does not fluctuate like the passive, isolated base platforms. The active isolation systems effectively increase positional stability for setting up various applications on the platform.
