AutoMet 250 Pro & 300 Pro: Programmable Automated Sample Preparation
The AutoMet Pro series are programmable automatic grinder polisher systems designed for labs where process documentation and multi-step method control are required. A 7″ touchscreen enables stored methods and controls up to five Burst dispensing modules for automated diamond suspension delivery at each step — turning the AutoMet into a near-fully automated grinding and polishing machine.
The AutoMet 300 Pro adds a 12″ platen and 2hp motor for maximum throughput on larger cross-sections.
Key features of the AutoMet Pro series include:
- Touchscreen: 7″ colour LCD with onboard multi-step method storage — any operator reproduces the exact process
- Burst dispensing: Up to 5 modules for automatic, metered diamond suspension delivery per step — eliminates manual dispensing variability
- Z-axis depth grinding: Motorized Z-axis controls material removal to a dimensional target — replaces timed grinding with quantifiable stock removal
- Platens: Apex S and Magnetic platen systems for tool-free changeover of grinding discs and polishing cloths; 8″/10″ on the 250 Pro, 12″ (305mm) on the 300 Pro
- Motor: 1hp (250 Pro) or 2hp (300 Pro) — higher motor maintains platen speed under load for harder or larger sample sets
- Capacity: Samples up to 50mm diameter; medium- to high-volume sample holders
- Best for: Labs with ASTM/ISO documentation requirements, multi-material workflows, or high sample throughput
