Material Science

The Materials Science application space includes research and production efforts to generate novel materials and/or variations of existing materials. The base component of these materials can be metals, ceramics, polymers, petroleum, minerals, organics, or composites of the previously noted. Efforts to generate these materials require characterization using optical instruments, mechanical tools, and chemical processes. Another round of testing begins once a material moves into production. Such testing ensures material property consistency during bulk production and commercial use.
